We are Yoga Nisarga, one of the seven schools below, so we have an obvious interest, and we put ourselves first. How do you choose a yoga teacher training in Goa?

Start with the things that change your three weeks the most, then compare fees like for like:

  • North or South Goa. Mandrem and Arambol are in North Goa, nearer Mopa airport. Agonda is in South Goa, nearer Dabolim airport. Check which airport your flight uses and what pickup each school offers. Our guide to the best time for a teacher training in Goa covers the season and getting there.
  • Style. Ashtanga Vinyasa is a set, flowing sequence; Hatha is slower and holds postures longer. Our Hatha vs Ashtanga Vinyasa guide explains the difference.
  • Room and meals. A dormitory bed costs far less than a private room. Check how many meals a day are included, and whether Sundays are.
  • Registration. Search for each school, including us, in the Yoga Alliance directory. Schools word their Yoga Alliance status differently, so check the listing itself.
  • Lead teacher. Ask who teaches most classes and what Yoga Alliance designation they hold.
  • Terms. Ask for the deposit, cancellation and refund terms in writing before you pay.
